A sports field, delapidated due to construction at the school, was ready for a rejuvenation. Looking for a simple, doable approach the design combines few much desired elements to create a school landscape that maximizes usability, encourages outdoor teaching and is easy to maintain.
The asphalt walking track gently ondulates around the irrigated soccer field and a multi-use basketball asphalt area and ties in the new picnic area and school garden. Vegetable garden, butterfly plantbed and shade structure create an inviting outdoor oasis near the school building. Along with the rainbarrels capturing rainwater this area offers multiple teaching opportunities.
